BTThe Revenge Porn Helpline has released Easy Read documents as part of our ongoing efforts to improve accessibility for our users.
Easy Reads are designed to make written information more understandable, especially for individuals with learning disabilities. They feature short and clear sentences accompanied by images to aid comprehension.
The new Easy Read documents were created in collaboration with Callum Nevitt at Values into Action Scotland and with the support of Michelle Mair at the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD).
As part of recent updates to our website, these Easy Reads will ensure that anyone affected by intimate image abuse can easily access the advice and information they need. The documents explain what intimate image abuse is and provide important information about how our service can help:

The documents also provide information and advice about different forms of intimate image abuse, including:
- Sextortion and webcam blackmail
- Intimate images shared without consent
- Threats to share intimate images
- Voyeurism and upskirting
Accessibility and Support
Last year, we also introduced British Sign Language Translations and video explainers to our information and advice pages to ensure that information can be provided in a variety of formats to suit the needs of the user.
Updates to these videos are one of many steps the Revenge Porn Helpline has taken to ensure that we can provide support for anyone with additional needs, including providing adaptable advice formats, call-backs, and follow-up emails to ensure any adult over the age of 18 who has been affected by intimate image abuse can get the best support.
Alongside this, we will also do our best to provide a BSL translator upon request to anyone who contacts the service.
